Pink and Published....

I'm so excited to share this fun news with you...finally! In fact I'm so excited you might say I'm tickled pink! Remember Sarah and Kyle's "Pinkful Wedding?"   I gave you a sneak peek of some of my iPhone shots back in October but I wasn't able to share the rest because I was waiting for........

....it to be published in Charlotte Living Magazine! First featured in the online mag and then in the hard copy when that comes out. It's my first featured wedding and I am simply over the moon about it! See the full spread (as a PDF file HERE!) I'm quoted and everything...which is cray because who would want to hear what I have to say?! Eeeeek! Okay, I'm done freaking out.

So, now that the cats out of the proverbial bag, let me show you the beautiful photos taken by Michael J. Flanagan Photography! They are gorgeous, pinkful pictures that captured an incredibly creative wedding day with a plethora of fun touches dreamt up by the bride herself!

Get ready for some PIIIIINK!

Sarah looked beautiful wearing a dress embellished with her mothers lace and carrying hot pink garden roses!

Take a closer look at these beauties...

Kyle and the boys sported creative boutonnieres in the signature grey and pink colors!

Guests were invited to have some pink popcorn and champagne on the front porch before the ceremony. Genius!

Sarah's "besties" wore fabulous pink glitter hearts from Bando. If you don't know Bando, go there for accessories you basically can't live without.

Sarah sported a Bando shoe clip to add a little pink to her bridal attire.

The wedding ceremony was held on the front porch of this beautiful Davidson home.

Sarah's nephew held up this sign so the guests knew who was coming!

Sarah and her Daddy came out the front door...

...and Sarah was so excited!

When they tied the knot the guests threw pink confetti in the air! (Side note, this is maybe my favorite picture from the whole wedding.)

Afterwards they took pictures. More glorious pictures.

Here's the happy couple with their nieces and nephews. I adore the pink dresses, headbands and pretty much everything about this photo. Models. That is all.

After the ceremony there was a fabulous cocktail hour in the even more fabulous backyard.

There were funny cocktail napkins and signature cocktails. (Napoleon is their dog, btw)

Some sittin' around a bonfire...

Mustache straws...

...and even some cute dogs dressed up in black tie for the event.

The reception was a fantastic display of pink, hearts and gray chevron stripes.

The pink ombre cake by WowFactor was simply stunning, don't you think?

Gray chevron table runners were complimented by pink napkins, candles and flowers.

Sarah and Kyle even toasted with pink champagne flutes...

..under a pinkly-lit tent.

There was a photo booth of course.

And a candy bar complete with glo sticks....not candy, but still "sweet."

The night was capped off with a glorious meal of McDonalds burgers and fries for a late night snack.

...and Sarah and Kyle lived happily ever after in the bask of a pink sunset.

I hope you enjoyed my walk down pink memory lane with Sarah and Kyle. I did!

Busy, Happy Occasions!

So it's been a few days since I've posted, I know. But I've been busy doing lots of stuff that I'm about to share with you. Like...

Planning our annual work event which was a big success if I do say so myself...

Attending a Roaring Out of Her 20s Great Gatsby themed party for my best friend Hillary... Aren't we cute as flapper girls?

Mr. Fo and I make a 1920s pair... might I say that my headband is from Anthro and I want to wear it even when I'm not dressed as a flapper, okay?

I've been writing articles and making recipes... like this Banana Poke Cake...

...and finally, this cute way to serve pasta salad just in time for Memorial Day weekend BBQs!

In other big happenings, my BFF Kalle had her 3rd babe, a beautiful baby boy named Stone Gregory.
We were lucky to hold him at about 10 hours old today...he's precious and Kalle is a champion as per usual.

So as you can see, things have been a little busy around here, but with all great things. Lucky, lucky  me. I found this quote and I simply adore it. This is why I always have a bottle of bubbly in the fridge :)  Hope you have something special to celebrate this week!

Brunch Ideas for Mothers Day!

Happy Friday! If you didn't know, its Mothers Day this Sunday...that's right - you better plan something or buy a card if you haven't already! Or in my case, call my brother to remind him it's Mothers Day. Ha. Cheers to those in the "Older Sister Club!"

One of my favorite ways to celebrate any special occasion is a scrumptious brunch. Morning cocktails, breakfast food and it doesn't typically start until at least 11! Score for sleeping in!

This Mothers Day I will be hosting an early dinner instead of a brunch because I'll be out the night before celebrating my best friends 30th birthday with a Roaring 20s themed bash. You may remember my post highlighting the trends of the 20s HERE. I've got a fantastic Anthro sparkly headband and a dress to boot. Methinks I'll have one too many glasses of champagne to make a brunch for my favorite moms, so I decided to push it to dinner. I'm smart.

For those of you that ARE hosting a brunch and are in need of some last minute inspiration, I've got just the thing :)

Let's start with the most important thing - Food :) For mom you can't just slop some pancakes on her plate, it's all about presentation, which is why I love these mini pancake skewers!

If you're an egg lover like me, you might like this fantastic display of tastiness - A poached egg on top of bruschetta of parma ham and avocado. I  mean could we have more of my favorite things on one plate?

Speaking of eggs, we need some bacon. I like these bacon, egg and toast "cups."

Maybe your mom is more of a waffle fan? Try this beautiful waffle bar to show her you really care.

Now to another important menu item - Cocktails. I like a nice mimosa, and make it creative with a Mimosa Bar like I did for a bridal shower a few years ago. People like choices :)

Or you can try a beautiful pink cocktail on a vintage tray like below.

For decor, think spring flowers and bright colors. Like my moms surprise brunch below...

...or this beautiful citrus inspired centerpiece.

If weather permits, host your brunch outdoors!

Make your moms plate special with a floral place card...

...or a beautiful place setting like this one.

I love this cutesy idea of giving each person a crossword - if you make it a group effort you might actually complete the crossword puzzle!

For more inspiration, check out Joy the Baker's blogs this week as she had a week-long feature on hosting a fabulous Mothers Day, like making this cake:

Whatever you do for your mom this weekend, just make sure you tell her how much you love and appreciate her. That's all she really wants!

Have a great weekend!
