Pinkful Wedding

Before we get started on this plethora of sparkly pink goodness that was this past weekend's wedding, let's clear up one major thing: Pinkful = full of pink. I thought the term was sort of obvious, but apparently some folks (including my husband) were confused.  When you see all the pink about to come your way, there will be no confusion, I promise! In case you're wondering, pinkful is not in the dictionary but I'm working on it.

First off, let's just say that my iPhone photos will not do this wedding justice. We'll need to see the real photos from Michael J. Flanagan Photography to capture the evening correctly, but for now these will do. I LOVED everything about this wedding theme and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! Think pink, whimsy, fun and simply awesome. Oh, and gorge.

Settle in with some pink lemonade, or better yet some pink bubbly to enjoy this preview of a fabulous night.

Let's just discuss the idyllic setting at the beautiful home of Kurt and Sherri in Davidson, NC, who are the groom's aunt and uncle. They also happen to be the coolest people ever and basically let people (i.e. me) camp out in their beautiful home for days to prep for this 70 person partay. What I'm trying to say is that I'm in withdrawal because I haven't spent any time in Kurt and Sherri's house in the last 24 hours. If you saw the house, you'd be in withdrawal too...it's magazine beautiful. For reals. Don't believe me? Check out the wedding ceremony which took place on their ginormous front porch complete with rocking chairs and a plethora of other comfortable seating perfect for sipping lemonade and watching the world go by.

I've never coordinated a ceremony on the front porch of someones home, but it turned out perfectly! With a backdrop like that, you really can't go wrong - am I right?

Post ceremony, the crowd threw confetti on the happy couple, one of my favorite touches! Among many other things, the confetti was provided by the fabulous Flair Exchange.

Confetti aftermath...

There were plenty of photos to be taken...see adorable bridesmaids below! These beautiful ladies are Kurt and Sherri's precious daughters, Claire and Olivia who are both uber sweet and funny to boot.

...with heart shaped shoe clips from my fave sight for glittery goodness, Ban.do.

After the ceremony, the guests had a long commute to the beautiful backyard for a lovely cocktail hour followed by a tented reception. Let's check out the creative details, shall we?

The florals were pink (duh) and the vessel was a champagne crate. There's just never enough bubbly :) The chevron runners were from Etsy. Really, this wedding should have been sponsored by the Color Pink and Etsy.

The combo of hot pink, gray, white and gold was simply smashing. Plus the tent was accented with pink lights and fabric, giving the whole tent a pink glow. Excuse me, a pinkful grow.

There were countless fun touches that showcased Sarah's creativity and fun personality.

Mustache and sparkly lip straws were a hit with the guests:

Flair Exchange to the rescue once again as we used their tassel garland and big ole balloons to add pizazz to various parts of the wedding reception.

This table was the appetizer table turned dessert table...

I hung some garland on the bar....see how i risk my life for my craft? #dedication (Ignore my pasty white legs as I'll be in the DR before you know it taking care of that whole situation)

Some other fun touches included:

Witty signage from Zazzle...

Flip flops and a cigar bar...

...and glow sticks...Obv...

Funny cocktail napkins...

Calligraphed escort cards with heart accents...

Whimsical food like tomato soup shot with grilled cheese and chicken pot pies for dinner (not pictured)...

...and of course we brought in late night McDonalds served on gold trays...

One of the food elements didn't work out as I'd hope. I had mini cotton candy spun on striped straws, but it didn't survive. Word to the wise - humidity and cotton candy are not friends. Exhibit A:

But I can deal with the cotton candy mishap because the fabulous ombre heart cake pretty much makes up for everything. OMG Wow Factor Cakes this really is the definition of WOW!

Now do you get why we called it the "pinkful wedding?" It was pinkfully awesome. Congratulations to Sarah and Kyle and many years of pinkful happiness! I can't wait to see the rest of the photos!!
Hope everyone has an equally fabulous week :)

Quick (but fun) update!

Hi all! I've only got time for a quick update as this week is rapidly flying by...here goes!

1) This week it's finally here! I'm talking about the fantastically creative, whimsical and PINK gray chevron and pink wedding that I've talked about for so long! You can read about it HERE, see a preview below...

...and check out the adorable couple here...

I can't wait to see all the details come together and you know I'll be talking about it next week on the blog.

2) In other news, today is my 4 year wedding anniversary! Mr. Fo and I celebrated last weekend by spending the night in a beautiful suite at the Ballantyne Hotel complete with a yummy dinner! It was such a great celebration that I'll sharing it next week on the blog...let's just say we felt really special for a night! (More special than normal, which is pretty special) ... After our wedding we were featured on Unveiled Wedding's blog, which had I know what a big deal it was at the time, I probably would have flipped! But I'm flipping now...here's the post and a photo collage of our big day! I loved it :)

3) Finally, I discovered a new favorite website this past week. Warning: This site will take hours of your productivity but will make you delight in it's beautiful images. One of my favorite images is below, and let's just say I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment!

I'd say a beautiful wedding this weekend and a fun wedding anniversary are reasons to celebrate with a bottle of bubbly, don't you agree? Pop some bubble this weekend for no reason, won't you?

Trish and Andrew's Wedding Pictures!

The last weekend of September I had the pleasure of coordinating Trish and Andrew's wedding day. Trish and Andrew are a really sweet couple that had a beautiful wedding. They were so happy and it simply warms my heart (and brings a tear to my eye) when I see my couples dressed up, in love and ecstatic on the day of their wedding!

This was fun not only because Trish and Andrew were so sweet, but because two of my former wedding couples were at their wedding! It was so fun to see Misty and Jared and Paul and Cori again! Both couples were beaming with happiness - yay!

Trish and Andrew's wedding was held at the Charlotte Trolley Museum, which is a really cool spot where I coordinate a lot of events. Their friends helped decorate the venue and handle flowers, which were bought from a local farmers market for an absolute steal! I love the wildflower and dahlia look, it goes perfectly with the decor of the venue.

All photos were taken by the talented Lisa Turnage Photography who was a pleasure to work with! Thanks for sharing your photos Lisa!

Look at the size of these red dahlias, aren't they gorgeous?!

Trish and Andrew's wedding colors were red and gray and I really liked the color combination. The groomsmen's gray suits were perfectly accented with a pop of red from gorgeous red roses!

They had a mini cake they cut just for themselves and seriously amazing Red Velvet Cupcakes and Rice Krispy Treats on the dessert table for everyone else. People were dying over the cupcakes and treats!

Here's an eagle eyes view of the venue floor! I love the string lights.

First dance...I love that light coming through them, such a cool photo!

The happy couple exited with a sparkler send-off, which is always a fun end to the evening!

Not only were Trish and Andrew lovely, their families were adorable as well. Check out "Mamaw" below...she's the most precious lady ever! I just love this photo!

Andrew's grandparents were there and had been married a solid 58 and 1/2 years (they made sure to include the 1/2 year!) When asked by the DJ for advice to give the newlyweds, they said: "Don't give up and have patience." I think that's absolutely fabulous advice and I'll tell you what, that sweet little couple were by each others side the whole night...not that I was creeping on them or anything. Okay, I was, they were just TOO cute! I actually hand delivered their cupcakes because I didn't want them to have to fight through the crowd. They were THAT cute.

I wish Trish and Andrew 58 and 1/2 years and even more!
Congratulations you two and thanks for letting me part of your special day :)

Alley and Mark's Wedding at Providence Country Club!

When I previewed Alley and Mark's engagement photos, I think we all knew their wedding would be a home run. Between a beautiful venue, great vendors and most importantly, an exuberantly happy and adorable bride and groom, their wedding day simply hit it out of the park.

Here's a preview of their wedding weekend as seen through my Instagram photos or Wedding Snap (unless noted). Side note, Wedding Snap is the newest thing...it's a photo sharing app that you can download all your wedding photos to and everyone can see them. Super rad.

Alley and Mark invited Mr. Fo and I to their rehearsal dinner as guests, which was so sweet and a fun way to pre-meet some of the wedding guests :) Mr. Fo was quite a hit (as he always is) and some of the wedding guests wanted him to actually attend the wedding. Which I of course did not allow. But he's not a wallflower, I can pretty much take him anywhere! The rehearsal dinner was at a great beer hall called VBGB that we frequent often. They have a great local beer selection and an even better soft pretzel! The table decor for the rehearsal dinner was casual and rustic, a perfect fit for the venue!

The wedding ceremony and reception were held the next day. Both were held at Providence Country Club.  Providence has a beautiful indoor and outdoor space and the staff was an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend the venue!

The ceremony was in front of the golf course, and more importantly, in front of a gorge Japanese Maple tree. It was NOT warm and it was slightly sprinkling, but the big rain held off and the ceremony was beautiful! Everyone held out like a champ and hid their shivers from the cameras!

Alley and her sweet dad made a grand entrance down the stairs! It was very princess like and very fabulous.

The ceremony led into a cocktail hour which was followed by a beautiful reception in the main ballroom. Food, drinks and sweets were plentiful which made it a night enjoyed by all! The cupcake display was simply awesome. We used wine crates to showcase the treats, and made a great statement piece! The cupcakes were made by the absolutely fabulous and basically famous
Mandie from Got What it Cakes.  Mandie's business has completely taken off. If you don't believe me you can catch her interview on the Katie Couric talk show and read about her in the NY Times.  See, I told you she was famous! Her treats are well worth all the hype too, I definitely housed down a cupcake late that night and it was WELL worth the long day on my feet!

Alley and Mark had a candy bar which is always fun. People love a candy bar! Instead of using bags for guests to take candy home, they used mason jars which also served as their escort cards. Guests found their name on top of the mason jar and their table assignment was inside the jar. Then they used the jar for taking candy  home! Genius and very efficient, just like Alley and Mark :)

Mark's birthday was the day after the wedding so Alley surprised him with a grooms cake made by Got What it Cakes and had the whole crowd sing happy birthday to him. I'd say he got a pretty great birthday present!

Alley and Mark danced their little hearts out on the dance floor...

...and then Alley changed into an adorable short dress for their "getaway." Providence doesn't allow sparklers to be used, so we came up with the idea of throwing faux autumn leaves which was adorable!

After seeing this professional shot taken by the awesome Diane Personett Photography, I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos! Aren't they just a beautiful couple?!

Alley and Mark are enjoying a wine-filled honeymoon in Napa right now! I'm so happy for them and simply loved working with them. Frankly, I'm in denial without Alley's emails and our meetings that turned into 3 hour chat sessions about randomness. Enjoy your honeymoon you crazy kids and I wish you much love, happiness and endless laughs together! I'll be sure to post more photos of Alley and Mark's wedding once the professional shots are ready.

In the meantime, check out my 2 latest articles that are all about Masquerade parties and Costume Swaps!
