Random Aspirations for 2011

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the 2011 goals that my favorite bloggers have been posting.  So I figured, why not post some "aspirations" of my own... I warn you - these are completely random, in no particular order of importance, and I cannot guarantee that I will actually achieve them.

OBVIOUS GOAL FOR THE NEW YEAR - LOSE HOLIDAY WEIGHT....THANKS SANTA...

You know those nutritionists on TV that talk about how the holidays are just a "DAY," not an entire month? (Yea, I'm talking about you Joy Bauer from the Today Show.) That's total BS.  I am proud to say that I stuffed myself with gingerbread men, women and children. I had more cheese than a cheese farmer. And let's not discuss wine or that pink bubbly I so love - we're the 3 best friends that anyone could have...And it was worth every pound! I will happily eat salads for the next 2 weeks straight to get back to my fightin' weight. Gingerbread men? I'll definitely see you next year. Cheese and wine? Let's be serious, I'll see you this weekend.

CULINARY GOALS:

MACARONS....

I have talked about this forever. Even I am sick of hearing myself talk about it. I want, need, must, am freaking out about making my own macarons! Clearly I have been letting the horror stories scare me..which is ridiculous - what are the consequences of making bad macarons on the first try? Having 1 million people to commiserate with who have suffered the same fate? Misery does love company :)  I mean, take a look at the picture above - don't these brightly colored cookies make you happy? I know I am behind the 8 ball. I know that everyone and their mother has made these. But I haven't yet. And I will. In 2011.  (I think.)

LIKE MY GRANDMAS AND GREAT-GRANDMAS USED TO DO...I WILL MAKE MY OWN PASTA FROM SCRATCH...

I know my grandmas didn't make past with a fancy pasta maker attachment for their Kitchen Aid ...but that's how I'm going to do it. My lovely, wonderful, sweet and beautiful mother gave me this for Christmas - thanks mommy! (Yea, sometimes I say mommy - you gotta problem with that?) ... So you know what, I am going to take advantage of this futuristic pasta making technology and use it. Fresh pasta coming to the Fo house in 2011...as soon as I figure out how to use the damn thing.

I ALSO NEED TO LEARN HOW TO SAY...

I think girls/women/females have this problem...saying yes to too much? Are you familiar? Unfortunately, I am. I say yes to things I don't really want to do, have time to do, or have any tiny bit of interest in doing.

You get my drift, right ladies? I thought so.

ALSO ON MY LIST? NETWORKING TO GROW MY BUSINESS...

Here's the weird thing about me. As social and chatty as I am, and oh boy am I... I think I am secretly a hermit. I am the happiest when I am sitting with Mr. Fo, on the couch, glass of wine in hand and of course, wearing my signature pink robe. But you know what else makes me happy? Planning events, and the thought of having a super successful business one day. And that isn't going to happen sitting on my couch in my fluffy robe...seriously, my clients won't take me seriously like this. So? What's a robe loving girl with a dream to do? Get out there! Meet people, spread the word, attend networking events - it's all important to making my dream a reality. I even joined Twitter...and I secretly like it!!! (follow me @jackiefo4)
I am putting myself out there - Twitter and all!

2011 - can you handle all these random aspirations? Fresh pasta and more networking? MACARONS?! And all of the other goals and thoughts and ideas that float around in my head on a daily basis?

2011... I challenge you... to challenge me.
