Luckily for us, the theme was easy to figure out. D (the mama to be) calls her baby "Pearl." It's not going to be the baby's name (that I know of), I think it's more a nickname whilst the baby is in utero. Whatever the reason, it made the party planning pretty easy. Theme = PEARLS!
Due to my love of Jackie O (see here) and our shared love of pearls (see here), this was right up my alley.
I am only in charge of decor for this shower, and it's been fun but challenging because our decor budget is quite low. But I know it will look adorable and I can't wait to post pics of the finished product next week. For now, here are a few preview pics:

This is the invite, which I take ZERO credit for. This comes from Jessi over at Naptime Diaries, another friend of the mama to be. Jessi is a young mom with 3 adorable kids and an awesome talent for design! Check out her blog to see some of the other invitations, holiday cards and blog designs she has done for people.

I spray painted some cardboard letters in a hot pink color.... I am obviously using these for the shower, but I can't tell you how or I would have to kill you. On a happier note, I have decided I want a fully stocked closet of spray paint in my house at all times. I am just obsessed. Plus, I got this mini bottle of pink spray paint that was so cute. Anything in a miniature size is cute. The little glass ketchup bottles? Swoon. But this is not a post about miniature versions of normal sized things, is it?

I am doing a little light baking for the party favors. As I mentioned before, we have a tight budget, so sugar cookies was economical. I got some pearl non-pareils and pearl ribbon to tie the treat bags with. And voila - favors! Doesn't everyone love a cookie? If they don't, I will just take them home for myself. This project allows me to use food coloring, which is also fantastic. In fact, I revise my earlier statement to say that I would like a fully stocked variety of spray paint colors AND food coloring colors at all time. I am not asking for much here.
Anyways... that is all I am going to give you, but I know you are DYING to see the results (right?!). To be honest, I am really excited to see how it all turns out. Hope the mama to be will love it!!
I can't wait for this! And jackie, you can use my name instead of just "best friend". love you
